Alarms & troubleshooting

AC_FAIL
Controller critical RED solid, rectifier AC/FAULT LEDs yellow flashing or off
Mains supply blackout, upstream AC input breaker trip, phase loss, or input voltage dropped below 85VAC.
1. Measure AC input terminal voltages using a True-RMS multimeter; 2. Verify status of the subrack input breakers and surge protection switch; 3. Confirm standby diesel generator auto-transfer if grid outage exceeds threshold.
RECT_FAIL
Controller major alarm active, faulty rectifier front panel FAULT LED solid RED
Internal PFC stage failure, primary DC/DC stage overcurrent, cooling fan failure/stall, or output overvoltage shutdown.
1. Check controller diagnostic logs and inspect module rear vents for blockages; 2. Unlock the handle, reseat the rectifier module after 30 seconds; 3. If red FAULT LED persists, verify backplane slot contacts and swap with a spare rectifier.
BLVD_ACTIVE
Controller CRITICAL alarm red LED solid, buzzer beeping continuously, battery contactor open
Extended AC outage fully drained battery reserve; DC bus dropped below the BLVD threshold (e.g., -43.2VDC), tripping the contactor.
1. Immediately restore utility power or connect mobile emergency generator; 2. Upon AC recovery, rectifiers will restart and contactor will auto-reconnect; 3. Monitor initial battery recharge current limiting carefully.
BATT_TEMP_HIGH
Controller MAJOR alarm LED solid yellow, LCD displays high battery temperature message
Battery compartment air conditioner failure, room ambient temperature >45°C, individual cell internal short circuit, or damaged temperature sensor.
1. Scan the battery bank with an infrared thermal imager to identify localized hot cells; 2. Verify sensor resistance against the controller readout; 3. Inspect HVAC cooling systems, force emergency ventilation, and isolate defective cells.
COMM_FAIL_CAN
Controller COMM alarm yellow LED blinking, affected rectifier communication indicator off
Internal CAN ribbon cable loose, backplane connector pin oxidation, missing 120Ω termination resistor, or a damaged CAN transceiver driving the bus low.
1. Reseat the CAN ribbon cable connecting the controller to the subrack backplane; 2. Remove rectifiers one by one to identify if a specific module transceiver is pulling down the bus; 3. Measure bus resistance across CAN_H and CAN_L powered-down (nominal ~60Ω).
