Alarms & troubleshooting

INV_FAIL_BYPASS (Inverter Fault / Transferred to Bypass)
Alarm LED solid red, Bypass LED solid amber, Inverter LED off, continuous buzzer
Power module IGBT hardware breakdown, gate drive failure, DC bus surge overvoltage, or severe output short circuit forcing static switch transfer.
1. Check the touchscreen log to identify the specific faulty 30kVA power module and fault code; 2. Inspect the output distribution branches for downstream short circuits or extreme overload; 3. If load conditions are normal, isolate and unlock the faulty power module from the subrack; 4. Attempt an inverter restart via the LCD interface under redundant conditions; replace the failed module if fault recurs.
BCB_OPEN (Battery Circuit Breaker Open)
Alarm LED blinking amber, Battery status LED solid amber, LCD displays 'BCB Open'
External battery cabinet circuit breaker manually tripped, shunt release circuit misoperation, or disconnected BCB auxiliary contact sensing wire.
1. Inspect the battery cabinet BCB handle position, wiring terminals, and signs of thermal stress; 2. Measure the total open-circuit string voltage and polarity to ensure nominal DC match; 3. Check terminal connections for the auxiliary contact signal and shunt trip coil with a multimeter; 4. Confirm absence of DC earth/bus faults, manually close the BCB breaker, and acknowledge the alarm on the LCD.
BATT_EOD (Battery End of Discharge)
Alarm LED solid red, Inverter LED off, UPS completely shuts down inverter output or enters standby
Prolonged mains outage; battery bank discharged down to the end-of-discharge threshold (typically 1.67V–1.75V/cell), triggering automatic shutdown to prevent cell damage.
1. Confirm the root cause of the extended mains loss or start the site standby generator to energize the UPS input; 2. Once mains or generator power is restored, the rectifier will soft-start and initiate current-limited boost charging; 3. Never force an inverter restart by lowering the EOD threshold if batteries are exhausted; 4. After full recharge, perform a battery cell voltage and conductance check to evaluate cell health.
REC_MAINS_FAIL (Rectifier Mains Input Failure / Phase Loss)
Alarm LED solid amber, Rectifier LED solid red, Battery discharging to load (Battery LED blinking green)
Mains power blackout, input AC voltage out of operational tolerance (<304Vac or >477Vac), tripped input breaker, or phase loss/imbalance on the utility bus.
1. Measure True-RMS phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral voltages at the UPS main input terminal block; 2. Inspect the upstream distribution circuit breaker and surge protection devices (SPD) for trip conditions; 3. Check the LCD monitoring page to ensure utility frequency is strictly within 40Hz–70Hz; 4. If utility levels are valid, inspect the power module internal input fuses and signal ribbon cables.
MOD_OVERTEMP (Power Module Overtemperature)
Alarm LED solid amber or blinking red, Module Fault LED illuminated, module fans running at 100% max speed
Clogged power module dust filters, internal airflow path blockage, cooling fan failure, HVAC outage, or ambient temperature exceeding 40°C.
1. Inspect site PAC/HVAC status to ensure room ambient temperature is controlled between 20°C and 25°C; 2. Inspect and clean the APM front door dust filters and module air intake grilles; 3. Access the LCD diagnosis screen to review temperature sensor readings for PFC and Inverter heatsinks; 4. Verify whether internal cooling fans spin freely without mechanical jamming; replace the module if a fan is dead.
