Alarms & troubleshooting

AC_FAIL (AC Mains Failure)
Controller Alarm LED steady red; Rectifier Power LED off, Protection LED amber or off
Utility grid blackout, AC input circuit breaker tripped, phase loss, or AC voltage out of operational limits (<85 VAC or >290 VAC)
1. Measure AC input terminal voltage across phases and neutral; 2. Check AC input breakers and SPD status; 3. Inspect rectifier slot backplane connectors for firm seating; 4. Replace faulty rectifier module if AC mains is verified normal and breaker is closed.
DC_HVSD (Rectifier DC Overvoltage Lockout)
Rectifier Alarm LED steady red, DC Output shut off; Controller logs Major/Critical alarm
Internal PWM loop failure, voltage feedback sensing defect, or current sharing failure forcing bus voltage above hardware trip limit (>59.5 VDC)
1. Unseat the failed rectifier, wait 3 minutes for bus discharge, and reseat to clear latch; 2. Verify controller overvoltage setpoints relative to float/boost levels; 3. Measure physical DC bus voltage with a calibrated DMM; 4. Replace the module if HVSD reoccurs immediately.
LLVD_ACT (Low Voltage Load Disconnect Active)
Controller Critical LED steady red, buzzer sounding, LLVD contactor indicator reflects open state
Prolonged mains outage draining battery bank below LLVD threshold (typically 43.2V–44.0VDC), total rectifier failure, or damaged LLVD contactor coil/aux wiring
1. Connect mobile generator to restore AC and charge bus; 2. If DC bus voltage is normal but LLVD remains open, inspect controller LLVD control fuse and driver wiring; 3. Engage emergency manual contactor bypass if critical transmission gear is offline; 4. Recondition/test battery capacity.
FAN_FAIL (Rectifier Fan Failure)
Rectifier Protection LED steady or flashing amber, output derated or stopped; Controller indicates Major alarm
Cooling fan bearing wear, mechanical blockage, dust clogging intake path, tachometer feedback signal lost, or auxiliary fan driver failure
1. Visually check and clean front dust filters and air grilles; 2. Inspect if fan blades rotate freely without mechanical friction; 3. Extract module and verify internal fan ribbon cable connection; 4. If fan remains inoperative upon power-on, replace the cooling fan assembly or the entire rectifier.
CAN_COMM_FAIL (Rectifier CAN Bus Communication Failure)
Controller Alarm LED amber; Rectifier defaults to autonomous current share mode; Controller screen shows module comm loss
CAN physical bus open/short circuit, backplane connector pin corrosion/misalignment, missing 120-ohm termination resistor, or failed CAN transceiver chip
1. Reseat unresponsive rectifier module and main controller (M530S/NCU); 2. Inspect backplane ribbon cables and verify 120-ohm bus terminators; 3. Measure loop impedance between CAN_H and CAN_L when powered down (nominal ~60 ohms); 4. Replace single rectifier if only one drops offline, or replace controller if all slots fail.
