Alarms & troubleshooting

INV_FAULT (Inverter Fault / Bypass Active)
Alarm LED (Red solid), Bypass LED (Amber solid), Inverter LED (Off)
Inverter bridge IGBT short/breakdown, DC offset over-limit, or gate drive circuit failure forcing unit to bypass
1. Review LCD event log to retrieve the secondary fault code. 2. Verify the load is sustained by bypass; measure AC output voltage stability. 3. Attempt an alarm reset and manual inverter restart; if fault persists, isolate unit on maintenance bypass and replace internal power stage.
BATT_DISCON (Battery Disconnected / Open Circuit)
Battery LED (Red flashing), Alarm LED (Amber solid)
External Battery Cabinet (EBC) Anderson connector loose, DC breaker open, or internal DC fuse blown
1. Inspect external battery cabinet cable harness and Anderson connector for secure latching. 2. Verify the DC circuit breaker on the rear of the EBC is in the ON position. 3. Measure open-circuit DC bus voltage with a digital multimeter; check internal busbar fuses if 0V. 4. Execute a manual Battery Self-Test via LCD to clear the fault status.
OUTPUT_OVERLOAD (Output Overload Fault / Shutdown)
Alarm LED (Amber/Red solid), Continuous audible buzzer, LCD shows Load > 105%
Connected IT load exceeds the 3kVA/3kW rated capacity, or downstream PDU experiences inrush current/fault
1. Check LCD display to identify actual load percentage (VA/Watts). 2. Shed non-critical loads immediately by disabling programmable output receptacles. 3. Inspect downstream PDUs and branch circuits for localized inrush or ground faults. 4. Reduce overall load below 90% capacity; system will auto-recover from bypass or allow manual reset.
OVER_TEMP (Over-Temperature Protection)
Alarm LED (Red solid), Cooling fans running at 100% max speed, Bypass LED (On)
Air intake bezel blocked, ambient ambient temperature exceeds 40°C, or internal cooling fan locked/failed
1. Verify data center rack ambient temperature is maintained below 30°C. 2. Clear obstructions from front bezel intake and maintain minimum 100mm clearance at rear exhaust. 3. Check LCD diagnostics for fan RPM feedback; if a fan reports 0 RPM, replace the failed cooling fan assembly. 4. Allow heatsinks to cool below safety threshold; the unit will automatically resume inverter operation.
CHG_FAULT (Charger Failure / DC Bus Float Voltage Error)
Alarm LED (Amber flashing), Battery LED (Off), LCD displays 'Charger Failure'
Charger control loop feedback failure, power converter stage fault, or DC float overvoltage protection activated
1. Measure battery terminals using a DMM to determine if float voltage exceeds limits (~2.27V to 2.30V/cell). 2. Disconnect external battery packs, restart UPS logic power, and verify no-load charger output voltage. 3. If open-circuit charger voltage is 0V or out of spec, the internal charger module requires replacement. 4. Inspect battery strings for shorted or degraded cells and replace damaged battery modules.
