Alarms & troubleshooting

HP_ALARM (High Discharge Pressure)
Red Alarm LED solid, Comp run LED off
Outdoor condenser coil fouled/blocked, condenser fan or speed controller failure, excessive refrigerant charge, or defective high pressure switch
1. Verify power supply and speed controller output to the outdoor condenser fan; confirm fan rotates freely. 2. Clean dust and debris from outdoor condenser fins using low-pressure water or compressed air. 3. Connect manifold gauges to verify discharge pressure; recover excess refrigerant if overcharged. 4. Once pressure drops below reset threshold, manually depress the HP switch reset button and clear the alarm on the controller.
LP_ALARM (Low Suction Pressure)
Red Alarm LED blinking (0.5Hz), compressor lockout initiated
Refrigerant leakage / insufficient charge, heavily clogged indoor air filter, restricted thermal expansion valve (TXV) or lost bulb charge, low pressure switch contact failure
1. Inspect indoor G4 air filter and replace immediately if restricted or dusty. 2. Check evaporator coil for icing; if iced, defrost completely and verify indoor fan airflow. 3. Connect manifold gauges to measure suction pressure; use electronic leak detector across joints, flare fittings, and Schrader valves. 4. Repair leaks, pull deep vacuum below 500 microns, recharge R410A per unit nameplate weight, and verify TXV superheat.
AIR_FLOW_FAIL (Loss of Airflow)
Red Alarm LED solid, electric heaters and compressor locked out
Indoor EC blower motor or driver failure, fan circuit breaker tripped, differential pressure switch sampling tube dislodged/crimped, or filter completely saturated
1. Inspect indoor fan circuit breaker (QF) for tripping; reset and measure input operating voltage. 2. Verify EC fan 0-10V/PWM control signal wiring integrity and check for mechanical impeller binding. 3. Check differential pressure switch (DPS) sensing tubes for secure connection, cracks, or particulate blockage. 4. Replace/clean air filter and reset the airflow alarm via the local controller display.
HIGH_TEMP_WARN (Return Air High Temperature)

Server IT thermal load exceeds 7.5kW cooling capacity, return air temperature/humidity sensor calibration drift, cooling sub-system offline due to previous fault, or room envelope air leakage

Check controller event log for unresolved cooling trips (e.g., HP/LP lockouts) preventing compressor operation. 3. Measure return air temperature using a calibrated psychrometer; adjust sensor offset in service menu or replace if error exceeds ±1.5°C. 4. Ensure data room perimeter doors and cable penetrations are sealed properly to eliminate thermal infiltration.
WATER_OVF (Condensate Overflow)
Red Alarm LED solid, cooling and humidification interlocked off
Condensate drain pan outlet blocked by biofilm/dirt, drain line pinched or reverse-pitched, internal drain pump failure/unpowered, or float switch stuck mechanically
1. Remove the unit front lower service panel, inspect the stainless drain pan, and clear sediment or biofilm from the drain outlet. 2. Inspect external condensate piping; rectify any hose kinks, crushing, or adverse slopes. 3. Test the condensate lift pump (if equipped); pour water into the sump to verify float trigger and discharge action. 4. Check float switch electrical contacts using a multimeter; replace stuck switch assembly and reset alarm on the display.
