IN_FAIL (Input Power Abnormal)
Green RUN LED off, Yellow ALM LED steady on or Red FAULT LED steady on
Input voltage out of operating range (<85 VAC or >300 VAC), grid outage, or upstream breaker trip
1. Measure input terminal voltage with a DMM to verify grid power is within nominal parameters. 2. Inspect the subrack input circuit breaker or fuse for trip status and reset if clear. 3. Unseat and firmly re-insert module into the slot; replace module if the condition persists.
OUT_OVP (Output Overvoltage Lockout)
Red FAULT LED steady on, Green RUN LED off
Internal regulation circuit failure or external DC bus surge exceeding HW threshold (>59.5 VDC), triggering HVSD latch-off
1. Disconnect input power or pull module out for 30s to discharge internal capacitors, then re-insert to reset lockout. 2. Check SMU controller settings to verify float and equalize voltage thresholds are configured correctly. 3. If HVSD latch re-engages immediately upon power-up, internal power silicon is damaged; replace the module.
OVER_TEMP (Over-Temperature Shutdown)
Yellow ALM LED steady on (derating) or Red FAULT LED steady on (thermal shutdown)
Air intake filter clogged, ambient cabinet temperature >65°C, or site HVAC failure causing heatsink thermal limits to trip
1. Inspect front ventilation holes and dust filters; clear accumulated dust to restore normal airflow. 2. Verify equipment room HVAC and cabinet ventilation fans are operating properly to reduce ambient temperature. 3. Allow module to cool below thermal recovery threshold and confirm automatic return to nominal state.
FAN_FAIL (Fan Locked-Rotor Fault)
Red FAULT LED steady on, Yellow ALM LED blinking or steady on
Fan blades seized by debris, tachometer Hall sensor failure, bearing wear-out, or PWM drive circuit open
1. Visually check front fan rotation and remove any foreign physical obstruction. 2. Disconnect module, clean dust/lint using dry compressed air, and re-seat module. 3. If fan remains stopped or speed feedback fails to register in SMU, replace the fan assembly or entire module.
COMM_FAIL (CAN Communication Failure)
Yellow ALM LED blinking slowly at 0.5 Hz, Green RUN LED steady on
Gold-finger connector oxidation/poor contact, subrack backplane CAN bus open/short circuit, or SMU controller fault
1. Check if module is fully engaged and locking latch secured; re-seat module to ensure solid connector seating. 2. Check the SMU controller status to confirm if other modules in the same subrack are also offline. 3. Swap module to an adjacent slot to isolate backplane port failure versus internal module CAN transceiver failure.
