Alarms & troubleshooting

AC_MAINS_FAIL (AC Mains Failure / Out of Range)
Green (Power) LED OFF, Amber/Red LED ON (powered by DC bus backplane)
AC blackout, AC input breaker tripped, AC voltage below 85VAC or above 300VAC, loose input wiring.
1. Measure true AC RMS voltage at the rectifier shelf connector; 2. Check and reset upstream AC input circuit breaker and inspect SPD; 3. Inspect AC wiring harness and neutral line integrity; 4. Re-seat or replace the rectifier module if input voltage is confirmed within 185-275VAC nominal window.
OVP_HVSD (DC Output Overvoltage Shutdown / Lockout)
Red (Alarm) LED solid ON, Green (Power) LED OFF, module latched in shutdown
Internal regulation loop failure, shorted secondary stage, incorrect controller OVP limit setting, or uncoordinated voltage setpoint forcing DC bus >59.5V.
1. Unseat the latched rectifier module and verify if DC bus returns to nominal float voltage; 2. Verify Rectifier OVP setting in Smartpack controller (typically 59.0V-59.5V); 3. Re-insert module; if Red LED latches immediately, internal regulation is damaged; 4. Replace the failed rectifier module.
HIGH_TEMP_SHUTDOWN (Over-Temperature Protection / Thermal Derating)
Amber LED flashing (derating) or Red LED solid ON (thermal trip >75°C), Green LED OFF
Clogged front air filter, obstructed exhaust airflow path, telecom room HVAC failure (ambient >55°C), or faulty internal NTC heatsink sensor.
1. Clean and clear front air grilles and intake filters on the rack; 2. Measure ambient room temperature and verify HVAC operation (<45°C recommended); 3. Ensure a minimum 100mm clear space at rear exhaust vents; 4. Allow heatsink to cool; module auto-recovers below trip point. Replace module if fault persists after cooling.
FAN_SPEED_FAIL (Cooling Fan Locked / Tachometer Error)
Amber (Warning) LED solid ON, controller displays Fan Speed Low, output derated to 50%
Physical debris locking fan blades, dried bearing lubricant, broken tachometer feedback wire, or failed 12V fan driver circuit.
1. Extract the rectifier and visually inspect fan cavity for physical obstructions; 2. Spin fan blades manually to check for bearing resistance or seizure; 3. If stiff or defective, replace the internal fan sub-assembly with genuine Eltek-specified spare; 4. Re-insert rectifier and confirm tachometer self-test clears the alarm.
CAN_COMM_FAIL (CAN Bus Communication Lost / Module Missing)
Amber LED flashes at 0.5Hz, Green LED solid ON, module operates in autonomous fallback mode (53.5V)
Oxidized/bent rear backplane connector CAN pins, open circuit on CAN-H/CAN-L traces, missing 120-ohm bus termination resistor, or Smartpack controller freeze.
1. Unseat module, inspect rear gold-plated CAN connector pins for bent contacts and clean with contact cleaner; 2. Verify CAN ribbon/RJ45 cable seating between shelf backplane and Smartpack controller; 3. Measure bus resistance across CAN-H and CAN-L unpowered (should read ~60 ohms with both 120-ohm terminators); 4. Reboot Smartpack controller to re-enumerate the rectifier.
