AC_FAIL (AC Mains Failure)
Green LED OFF, Yellow LED ON (Red LED ON if rectifier powered via DC bus)
AC input out of range (<85VAC or >300VAC), mains blackout, open AC breaker, or blown internal input fuse.
1. Measure AC input voltage at backplane terminal with a True-RMS multimeter to verify 185-275VAC nominal range. 2. Inspect upstream AC branch circuit breaker and surge protection devices (SPD). 3. Reseat module into an adjacent known-good slot to eliminate connector/backplane fault. 4. If AC voltage is verified healthy but failure persists, internal PFC/rectification stage is defective; replace unit.
OVP_LOCKOUT (DC Output Overvoltage Lockout / HVSD)
Red LED Solid ON, Green LED OFF
DC output voltage exceeded selective High Voltage Shutdown (HVSD) threshold (>30.0VDC), triggering selective hardware latch-off to protect DC load and batteries.
1. Disconnect AC power and unseat module for 60 seconds to discharge internal capacitors; reinsert to perform hardware reset. 2. Verify float/boost voltage and OVP trip settings via Smartpack controller interface. 3. If unit immediately trips back into solid Red OVP latch upon reconnection, internal control loop failed; replace rectifier. 4. If multiple rectifiers latch simultaneously, check for external DC backfeed or controller reference corruption.
TEMP_SHUTDOWN (Thermal Protection Shutdown)
Yellow LED Blinking/Solid (Derating), Red LED Solid ON during thermal cutoff, Green LED OFF
Internal heatsink temperature exceeded threshold (>85°C) due to blocked front air intake, clogged dust filters, fan degradation, or ambient temperature >65°C.
1. Inspect front intake grille and rear exhaust; vacuum dust accumulation and remove airflow obstructions. 2. Check site HVAC status to ensure air inlet ambient temperature is maintained below 45°C. 3. Allow module to cool down; observe whether it automatically recovers and clears the red LED at ~70°C heatsink temp. 4. If overheating occurs in low ambient environment with clear airflow, internal fan or thermal sensor is degraded; replace module.
FAN_FAIL (Cooling Fan Failure)
Red LED Solid ON (Fan locked) or Yellow LED Flashing (Speed low), Green LED ON/OFF
Mechanical bearing seizure, foreign object blocking fan impellers, disconnected tachometer wire, or defective PWM fan driver circuit.
1. Visually inspect the front fan; check for cable ties, dust clogs, or debris trapping the impeller. 2. Reseat module in the shelf slot and check if fan spins up to maximum RPM during initial power-on self-test. 3. If fan does not spin or generates severe grinding noise while alarm persists, bearings/motor are dead. 4. Replace front-accessible fan assembly if field-serviceable, or swap the rectifier module.
CAN_COMM_FAIL (CAN Bus Communication Loss)
Green LED Flashing (Autonomous/Safe Mode), Yellow LED Solid ON
Communication lost between rectifier and Smartpack controller; bent CAN pins on backplane connector, missing CAN bus termination resistor, or ID address conflict.
1. Verify module fell back into autonomous fail-safe mode (holding predefined default float voltage, e.g., 27.0VDC). 2. Inspect CAN inter-rack patch cables and ensure the 120-ohm CAN bus terminating plug is properly installed. 3. Eject module and check the multi-pin connector on the rear for bent, receded, or oxidized CAN pins. 4. Trigger a rectifier rediscover scan on the Smartpack controller; if only this slot fails, replace backplane board.
