Alarms & troubleshooting

AC_MAINS_FAIL (AC Mains Failure / Out of Range)
Green LED OFF, Red LED solid ON (if powered via DC bus) or all LEDs unlit
AC mains supply blackout, input voltage <85VAC or >300VAC, loose rear connector contact, or tripped AC feed breaker.
1. Measure AC input terminal voltage on the shelf backplane with a digital multimeter (nominal 185-275VAC for full power). 2. Verify that the dedicated upstream AC circuit breaker (MCB) in the distribution unit is closed. 3. Unseat module and inspect rear blind-mate connectors for carbonization, bent pins, or seating defects before re-inserting firmly.
DC_HVSD (High Voltage Shutdown / Overvoltage Lockout)
Red LED solid ON, Green LED OFF
Module output voltage exceeded hardware HVSD threshold (>59.5VDC typical), internal PWM loop failure, or controller trip command.
1. Extract the rectifier or toggle its AC breaker for 60 seconds to discharge internal bus and clear latch. 2. Verify float/boost parameters and overvoltage protection settings on the Smartpack controller. 3. Re-seat module; if it trips into HVSD immediately while bus voltage is normal, internal regulation has failed—replace module.
OVER_TEMP (Thermal Shutdown / High Temp Derating)
Yellow LED solid ON (derating) or blinking / Red LED ON (shutdown threshold reached)
Ambient temperature >75°C, clogged front intake air filter/grille, obstructed rear exhaust, or severe internal dust buildup.
1. Verify telecom equipment room HVAC operation; confirm ambient inlet temperature is within normal limits (-40°C to +45°C). 2. Clean dust and debris from the front faceplate perforated mesh and clear rear exhaust path using compressed air. 3. Check if unit is within thermal derating profile (45°C to 75°C); verify output power recovers to 2000W once temperature drops.
FAN_FAIL (Fan Blocked / Speed Failure)
Yellow LED flashing at 0.5Hz; Red LED illuminates if module inhibits output
Bearing wear causing mechanical stall, loose internal harness, defective tachometer sensor, or debris jamming impeller.
1. Visually inspect the front fan; verify if blades are jammed by debris and test free rotation manually with power removed. 2. Access the Smartpack controller interface to check the rectifier's reported fan speed duty-cycle percentage. 3. If defective, unclip and replace the field-replaceable front fan module (Flatpack2 spare fan kit) or hot-swap the rectifier module.
CAN_COMM_FAIL (CAN-bus Communication Loss)
Green LED flashing at 0.5Hz (autonomous fail-safe mode), Yellow LED ON
Backplane CAN pin misalignment, missing/damaged 120Ω termination resistor, Smartpack controller CAN controller fault, or ID conflict.
1. Remove rectifier and inspect signal pins on rear edge connector for bends, corrosion, or contamination; reseat firmly in guide rails. 2. Measure CAN termination resistance between CAN_H and CAN_L with power off (nominal should read ~60Ω with two 120Ω terminators in parallel). 3. Check flat ribbon interconnect cables to the Smartpack controller; perform a controller restart or initiate a CAN bus rescan if required.
