CAN_COMM_FAIL (CAN-bus Communication Failure)

Damaged/loose RJ45 CAN-bus patch cord between BSM and Smartpack controller, missing 120-ohm termination resistor, or CAN transceiver fault.
1. Verify continuity of RJ45 cables and connectors between BSM and Smartpack controller. 2. Measure CAN-bus loop impedance (nominal ~60 ohms powered down). 3. Access Smartpack Web/PowerSuite interface, review CAN device list, and initiate node scan. 4. If unresolved, replace BSM module (242100.300) and reconfigure.
BATT_SYM_DEV (Battery Symmetry Voltage Deviation)

Midpoint voltage deviates from half-string potential beyond configured threshold (e.g., >0.5V-1.0V), indicating degraded block, unequal self-discharge, or loose sensing wire.

Disconnect probe and measure NTC resistance curve; replace faulty sensor cable. 4. If actual thermal runaway is detected, immediately reduce float voltage or isolate string to prevent fire.
CURR_SENS_FAIL (Current Sensor / Shunt Signal Fault)

Broken or reversed mV shunt sense wiring, auxiliary power loss to Hall-effect current transducer, or incorrect shunt rating configuration in Smartpack.
