Alarms & troubleshooting

AC_FAIL (AC Input Out of Range/Fail)
Green LED OFF, Yellow LED solid ON, Red LED OFF
Grid AC power outage, input voltage below 85VAC or above 300VAC, input breaker tripped, or internal AC input fuse blown.
1. Measure the input terminal voltage at the backplane using a True-RMS multimeter to verify it is within normal range (85–300VAC). 2. Check whether the upstream AC branch circuit breaker is closed and inspect for loose wiring or tripping. 3. If input voltage is nominal but the module remains offline, reseat the module and inspect backplane connectors for burning/damage; replace the module if defective.
DC_OVP_LOCK (DC Output Overvoltage Lockout)
Green LED OFF, Yellow LED OFF, Red LED solid ON
Internal voltage control feedback loop failure, DC bus back-fed by foreign source, or output voltage exceeding hardware protection threshold (>59.5Vdc), causing internal latch-off.
1. Check the system controller (e.g., Orion/PSC 3) for DC bus voltage readings and verify float/boost charge parameter settings. 2. Disengage and pull the fault module partially out of the shelf, wait 30 seconds to discharge internal caps, then reinsert to reset the latch. 3. If the red LED turns solid immediately upon re-insertion without output, the module's secondary regulation stage is damaged; replace the module.
OTP_DERATING (Over-Temperature Derating & Shutdown)
Yellow LED blinking/solid during derating; Red LED solid ON with module shutdown during over-temp cutoff
Ambient temperature exceeding 55°C, front air intake dust filter severely clogged, restricted cabinet airflow, or internal heatsink NTC sensor over limit.
1. Check room air conditioning and verify ambient air temperature in front of the subrack intake is below 45°C. 2. Clean the cabinet air filters and the front perforated ventilation holes of the module; clear any airflow obstructions. 3. Allow the module heatsink to cool down; once the temperature drops below the recovery threshold, the rectifier will automatically resume normal rated operation.
FAN_FAIL (Cooling Fan Locked/Tachometer Fault)
Red LED solid ON, Yellow LED solid ON or blinking
Cooling fan mechanically jammed by debris, bearing seizure, detached internal fan harness, or missing tachometer speed feedback signal causing rectifier power output derating.
1. Visually inspect the front fan impeller and use an insulated probe to check if fan blades rotate freely without friction. 2. Disengage the rectifier module and remove any debris, dust buildup, or cable obstacles around the fan assembly. 3. Reinsert the module to trigger the power-on fan spin test; if the fan fails to spin or the alarm persists, replace the fan assembly or the entire rectifier module.
CAN_COMM_FAIL (CAN-bus Communication Lost/Current Share Error)
Green LED solid ON, Yellow LED blinking (0.5Hz–1Hz)
Poor contact on backplane CAN connector pins, controller (Orion/PSC 3) offline, missing CAN termination resistor, or inability to perform dynamic active current sharing (>10% deviation).
1. Check if the supervisory controller (Orion/PSC 3) is powered and operating without controller-side system alarms. 2. Unlock, reseat, and latch the module firmly into its slot to verify complete engagement of the rear CAN communication pins. 3. Measure the resistance across CAN_H and CAN_L lines on the backplane with a multimeter (nominal should be ~60 ohms for two parallel 120-ohm terminators); replace faulty terminator jumpers if required.
